The BERLIN ROCKS COWL is an homage to my hometown Berlin and my contribution to the Berlin Knits Yarnfestival which took place on Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st 2017 !

It shows Berlin´s most famous sights, the Brandenburg Gate and the TV Tower – but you don´t spot them at your first glimpse, they hide in a graphic pattern. Show off your love for Berlin with understatement !

It´s made of Tukuwool – wonderful finish wool that´s available in several colours and perfect for stranded knitting.

It is a long tube and will be blocked flat first, then twisted once to give it a fake Möbius look and then grafted. You only knit – there is not a single purl stitch - in the round - it is stranded all over but the pattern is easy to memorize - all you need is a little patience !

Auf dem Cowl sind Berlins beliebteste Sehenswürdigkeiten abgebildet, das Brandenburger Tor und der Fernsehturm – man erkennt beide aber erst auf den zweiten Blick ! Ein Muss für jeden Berliner oder Berlin-Liebhaber !
Gestrickt wird mit Tukuwool – einer reinen finnischen Wolle, die in verschiedenen Farben erhältlich ist und sich perfekt für Einstrickmuster eignet.
Es wird als Schlauch gestrickt und zunächst geblockt und dann einmal um 180 Grad gedreht. Man strickt ausschließlich rechts – in Runden – es gibt nicht eine einzige linke Masche. Das Fair Isle Muster wird durchgehend gestrickt, man kann es aber schnell auswendig – alles, was man benötigt, ist etwas Geduld !
Der Cowl kann ganz einfach in Größe und Länge angepasst werden – allerdings muss die Anzahl der Wiederholungen in der Runde eine gerade Zahl sein, sonst funktioniert das Zusammennähen nach der 180 Grad Drehung nicht mustergemäß. Das Original hat einen Umfang von ca. 118 cm und sitzt locker.
