Bergen
The Bergen scarf is a lovely small scarf, perfect to fit inside your coat. A small mosaic scarf which can easily be made longer (more yarn will be needed). The ends are tapered and a button is used to fasten the scarf. This mosaic stitches pattern is an easy way to work colour work using slipped stitches.

Materials:
Hjertegarn Merino Cotton (DK; 50% superwash wool/50% cotton;120m/131yds per 50g ball) x 2 balls. Shown in shade: 9130 Magenta (C1) x 1 ball & 3803 Pink (C2) x 1 ball
4mm (UK 8/US 6) knitting needles
1 button (2.5 cm/1 in) - optional

Skills Needed (see patten for abbreviations):
Basic Skills: cast on, cast off, knit, slip stitches purlwise
Decreases: ssk
Increases: m1
Reading Chart (optional - see Tutorial)

Tension:
25 sts and 38.5 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart B after blocking.
Exact tension is not essential but a difference in tension may affect the final size and amount of yarn used.
