Bempton Hat
The metres suggested above is total metres used, which is about 160m of the mohair luxe and the same of aran. So if you wanted to knit the knit in just one aran weight strand you will need about 150-160m
Yarn & Amounts: Two 50g balls of merino+ aran (100% merino wool, 90m/98yd per 50g) AND one 25g ball of mohair luxe (77% mohair & 23% silk, 175m/191yds per 25g)
Notions: Cable needle.
My design ideas and advice: This hat has been so much fun to knit! I used one strand of merino+ aran and one strand of mohair luxe held together to knit this hat and really enjoyed the feel and look of these two fibres together. You can knit the hat just in one strand of aran weight yarn too, it will have a soft drape compared with the firm feel of the merino and mohair together.
The hat was knitted as a request from a friend, and I gifted the Bempton Mittens to go with the hat too. The stitch pattern I used for this hat is one of my favourites, I have used it on a few other items and will keep using it because I love knitting it! I hope you do too.
