Inspired by the famous nursery rhyme, the “Bells and Shells” sweater is a simple and feminine, yet still cozy and easy to wear. The dropped stitch lace pattern that borders the bottom hem and sleeves is reminiscent of the cockle shells native to the shores of Scotland. Knit from the bottom up, this sweater makes for quick yet entertaining knit. Perfect for those chilly spring days. Bells and Shells is intended to be worn with 4-6” of positive ease, giving it an effortless look, but could easily be sized down to create a more fitted garment.

Needles:
US Size 7, 32” circular or size needed to obtain gauge
US Size 8, 32” circular needle or 1-2 sizes larger than gauge needle
US Size 7 dpns or long circular needle for sleeves and i-cord, or size needed to obtain gauge
US Size 4, 16” circular needle, or 3-4 sizes smaller than gauge needle for neckline stss

Gauge:
22 sts & 28 rows over 4” on gauge needle, after blocking
5.5 sts & 7 rows over 1” on gauge needle after blocking
