Of anything I have designed, this sock has brought forth
so many raw emotions. Belfast is a beautiful city, and was at the heart of the troubles. There was a time when wearing a shamrock was illegal , when I felt unsafe walking her streets. But she is lovely. She honours both sides of the troubles and is the seat of shared government by both England and Ireland. She also has an amazing
shipping history, the Titanic was built in Belfast, as was the HHMS Britannic. Belfast is a wonderful place, and I hope I do her honour.
These socks are lovely, I might suggest adding knitting elastic to the first round of stockinette stitch to keep them up.
