BEIROAN sweater
The pattern is tech edited by talented woollenwords and testknitted by a bunch of talented knitters! Please check out all the inspiring projects!
DESCRIPTION
The Beiroa Yarn and the Beiroan Sweater are a perfect design match! The natural striped yarn shows off the different knitting directions of this construction perfectly.
The sweater is worked top-down, working increases at center front and back and on top of the sleeve/shoulders with some bobbles to highlight the edge. Then it splits into body and sleeves and both have short rows to balance the yoke.
Sleeves and body are finished in the round, ending with 1x1 ribbing hem/cuffs. Finally, stitches for the V-neck are picked up and worked. All ribbings end with a tubular bind-off for a professional and neat finish. We love to see your knits on social media. Please use #BEIROANsweater and #ivnknit

EASE + HOW TO PICK YOUR SIZE
The finished measurements include 10-35 cm (4-13,75 inches) of positive ease. The sweater has an oversized, relaxed fit, so if you’d like it a bit more fitted just choose a size smaller or less ease. In the pictures, you see a size 2 worn with around 30 cm (12 inches) of positive ease. It’s recommended to choose a size with more ease for small sizes and with less ease for larger sizes. Eg, for a bust circumference of 150 cm (59 inches) you can choose size 9 with only 13,5 cm (5.25 inches) of positive ease, for a bust circumference of 80 cm (31.5 inches) you can pick size 1 with 32 cm (12.5 inches) of positive ease.
NEEDLES
Circular needle to obtain gauge:
Larger size for the yoke: recommended 5,0-6,0 mm (US 8-10) with a length at least of 80 cm (32 inches) or more
Medium size for body and sleeves: recommended 4,0-5,0 mm (US 6-8) with a length at least of 80 cm (32 inches)
Small size for hem, cuff and neck ribbing: recommended 3,0-4,0 mm (US 3-6) with a length at least of 80 cm (32 inches)
Optional: double-pointed needles in medium and small sizes (if you don’t want to work the sleeves with the magic loop method)
GAUGE
Start with a medium needle to make Gauge 2 (17,5 x 24), then just go up a needle size for gauge 1 and down a needle size for gauge 3! (eg. If you use 4,5 mm (US 7) for mainpart, choose 5,5 mm (US 9) (loose knitter) or 6,0 mm (US 10) (tight knitter) for yoke and 3,0 mm (US 3) (loose knitter) and 3,5 mm (US 4) (tight knitter)
Gauge 1: YOKE: 15 sts x 22 rows = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches) in stockinette stitch, using larger needles, blocked
Gauge 2: MAIN PART and SLEEVES: 17,5 sts x 24 rows = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches) in stockinette stitch, using medium sized needles, blocked
Gauge 3: NECK, HEM, CUFFS: 20 sts x 28 rows = 10 x10 cm (4x4 inches) in 1x1 rib, using smaller needles, blocked

Aran weight or yarn to obtain requested gauge
Eg: Retrosaria, Beiroa (Aran weight; 100 % wool; 230 m (252 yds) per 100 g) in shade 401 undyed white
Other options:
Kremke Soul Wool Reborn Wool Recycled (Aran weight; 65% recycled wool, 35% recycled nylon; 200 m (219 yds) per 100g)
METRES NEEDED
900 (1000 / 1050 / 1100) 1150 (1200 / 1300 / 1400 / 1500) m (980 (1090 / 1150 / 1200) 1250 (1300 / 1420 / 1530 / 1630) yds)
Amounts stated are calculated for a side length of 30 (31 / 32 / 33) 34 (35 / 36 / 37 / 38) cm (11.75 (12.25 / 12.5 / 13) 13.5 (13.75 / 14.25 / 14.5 / 15) inches) and a sleeve length of 48 cm (19 inches)
-->As the sweater is knitted top-down, all lengths are adjustable. You may need more yardage if you consider want to knit your sweater or sleeves longer.
