Ribbed Afghan: This pattern gives instructions to knit the afghan shown. This is a beginners pattern in an easy rib pattern stitch. It is worked in two colors in blocks that are then joined together and trimmed all the way around with Satin Ribbon. The finished afghan will measure approximately 42 x 51 inches. This great beginning project dates back to 1946, where it was issued as Womans Day Leaflet HH-946.

Materials:

KNITTING WORSTED, 18 balls (1 oz. balls) each of White and Blue Knitting Pins,
1 pair No. 10
5 ½ yards white satin ribbon, 3 inches wide.
GAUGE: 4 ½ sts make 1 inch.
