Bedford Cross Socks
♫ The Music ♫
Bedford Cross (also known as Denis Murphy’s Slide) is a jaunty traditional Irish tune that will get your toes tapping – good traveling music!
If you’re looking for a great take-along project, you’ve found it!
Pattern Features
- A 4-row stitch pattern that is easy to remember;
- Toe-up socks begin with a wide toe;
- The stitch pattern is worked on the instep while the sole is worked in Stockinette stitch;
- The heel is turned using short rows so there’s no need to pick up sts (my favourite!);
- The heel flap is worked in standard slip-stitch pattern;
- The instep pattern stitch is worked on both the front and back leg;
- The top ribbing is a simple 1 x 1 rib extending from the pattern stitch.
Written directions for Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off are included.
