Beaded Jute Mini Backpack Purse
This is a great GREEN project for a mini-backpack purse that is absolutely indestructible. The supplies are very inexpensive (probably less than $12), but the final project is quite unique and impressive!
Finished size: 8” wide x 5” deep x 10” high
- Needles required are 10.5 circular and straight (optional)
- Size 10, double pointed for handles, straps
- Size 6 to 8 double pointed (optional)
- Uses 3 rolls of Darice 3 ply, 100% natural, 28 lb Jute
Additional supplies:
- Pony or wooden beads, 150 to 250, depending on the trim you choose.
- One or two piece buckles for attaching straps to the bag
- 3/16” thick foam for bottom
Many instructional photos are included throughout the pattern. Two sample projects are included, one using Pony beads and the other using wooden beads for a truly all-natural, green project!
Depending on the quality of jute you buy, it can be a bit rough and can be strenuous to work with at times because it is so heavy…… but I think it’s worth the effort!
