A lovely romantic textured and lacy pattern decorates my birthday socks, like icing on a cupcake. Hipp, hipp, hooray!

These socks are knitted cuff down with a heel flap and gusset. The pattern offers instruction to work both techniques: on a circular needle (Magic Loop) or with DPNs.

Get out your needles and sock yarn. Choose a solid or semi solid colour best. Your yarn should be „quiet“, without wild colour changes or speckles. But the colour itself can absolutely be „loud“, as the pink I chose for my socks.

A too wild and colour changing yarn can easily swallow the pattern. But of cause you can choose whatever yarn you like best.

Sizes: 36/37 (38/39, 40/41, 42/43) 44/45 US: 5/5,5 (6/7, 7,5/8,5, 9/10) 10,5/11,5

Gauge: 32 sts x 46 Rds in Stockinette stitch after washing and blocking.

Yarn: 100g Regia Premium „Merino Yak” (58% Merino, 28% Polyamide, 14% Yak; 400 meter/100 gramm)
colour “07524”

Needles: DPNs size 2,25 mm (US 0) or circular 60-80cm (24-32”) – or size to obtain gauge.

Notions: 1-3 Marker; cable needle optional; tapestry needle.

Ein wunderbar romantisches Struktur- und Lochmuster ziert meine Geburtstagssocken wie Zuckerguss einen Cupcake. Hipp, hipp, hurra!

Die Socken werden vom Bund abwärts mit einer Fersenwand, Käppchen und Spickel gearbeitet. Die Anleitung bietet beide Stricktechniken an: auf Rundstricknadeln (Magic Loop) oder mit klassischem Nadelspiel.

Bewaffne dich mit deinen Stricknadeln und einem möglichst einfarbigen Sockengarn. Deine Garnauswahl sollte mögliches „leise“ ausfallen, also keine wilden Sprenkel und kurzen Farbwechsel aufweisen. Die Farbe darf dafür gerne „laut“ sein, wie das Pink, für das ich mich entschieden habe.

Ein zu wild gemustertes Garn verschluckt leicht das Muster. Aber natürlich steht es dir vollkommen frei, das Garn zu nutzen, das dir am besten gefällt.
