Bay View Pillow
I designed the “Bay View Pillow” for a very dear friend of mine. On my blog you can read about how I kidnapped yarn from her stash and knit this pillow for her birthday. She loves the finished pillow and it looks fantastic in her living room!
This is a fun, quick knitting project! Knit one large rectangle, fold the knitting in half, sew up the side seams, insert the purchased pillow form and then sew up the bottom seam. It’s really easy! Detailed finishing instructions included in the pattern with lots of photos.
The classic, simple texture of this knitting pattern makes this pillow suitable for many decor styles.
This pillow is knit with chunky weight yarn. (In the U.S., chunky weight yarn is classified as “Bulky” on the label.)
SKILL LEVEL: Easy
You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, bind off stitches, sew up simple seams and weave in ends.
If you have not sewn up seams before, this pattern includes detailed, step-by-step finishing instructions with close-up photos.
This pattern is written in standard U.S. knitting terms with row-by-row pattern directions.
SUPPLIES: I used Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky yarn. This yarn has been discontinued. However, the pattern will work well with many chunky weight yarns. I like Berroco Vintage Chunky and Malabrigo Chunky.
This pattern uses approximately 365 - 370 yards.
I used a standard (inexpensive!) 16” x 16” pillow form.
If you have any questions while using the pattern, I am happy to help. I want you to be successful! My contact info is in the pattern.
