Basic Sunburst Scarf Pattern
Have you ever needed just a basic sunburst scarf pattern? Look no further! This scarf pattern is perfect for those who want to use those random skeins you just had to have…but have no pattern or purpose for them…you know the ones…. They’re just sitting there waiting for the perfect scarf to come along. This. Is. It.
I had to have these two Candy Cane coloured skeins of yarn…but what to make with only two skeins? I decided to work them up as solid coloured sunbursts and turn them into a really simple scarf. The DK weight is perfect coziness mixed with excellent drape. Go shop your stash or treat yourself to something new…
This pattern is worked up using the classic sunburst granny square and CJAYG (there’s a video tutorial!).
The pattern uses a total of 703yds of yarn (Ravenswood Fibre Co Merino/Nylon DK weight yarn (246yds/100g) and Knit Picks Swish Bare DK (246yds/100g) to join) and a 4.5mm hook.
The final scarf size was: Approximately 7.5”x 68” inches.
Pattern will include:
- yarn amounts/quantities.
- yarn colours.
- stitch glossary.
- printable pdf of scarf graph.
- full written instruction for the granny square used (classic sunburst granny square), border and tassels.
- video tutorial for the sunburst granny square & the CJAYG method of joining the scarf.
Happy Crocheting Everyone!
