This is a PATTERN for a baby hat size 0-3 months.

If you are looking for an easy hat pattern to surprise a new mom - this is it!

This hat can be knitted in the round or in rows. Whatever seems easier to you!

Materials: one circular 24” or a set of two straight knitting needles size US 7 (4.5 mm),
Yarn: 120 yards/ 110 m Worsted yarn (I actually used sock yarn two strands held together for the hat in the photo: Koigu KPPPM col. P863 (100% Merino 50g/175 yards/160m), tapestry needle, scissors, cardboard paper (you could use an empty cereal box)
IF YOU KNIT THIS HAT IN THE ROUND: you will need a 12” circular needle size US 7 for the bottom part or work the entire hat on double pointed needles (= set of 4 or 5 needles).

Gauge: 20 sts/28 rows in Stockinette Stitch on a US 7/4.5 mm needle (Stockinette Stitch means: knit one row, purl one row repeat from to or knit only when worked in the round)
