Base Camp is a pattern and shawl recipe that is anything but basic!
One color, two colors, odds and ends, or a color gradient? Follow the pattern as written for DK weight yarn or go off the beaten path with the recipe. No matter the yarn weight, the Base Camp shawl is the perfect relaxed knit that satisfies all your brioche cravings!

The pattern is available in English and German in a desktop/print version and a mobile-friendly version for viewing tablets and smartphones.

PATTERN vs. RECIPE
The Base Camp shawl was originally designed in one-color brioche for DK weight yarn. Because of the straightforward construction, it is possible to use any yarn weight. It’s also great for using up leftovers.
To knit the original version, just follow the pattern as written. Alternatively, you can follow the variation to add in a little more color by using two-color brioche. Feel free two switch between one- and two-color versions. To knit the shawl in a different yarn weight (from lace to bulky), check the recipe for gauge, yardage requirements, and needle size recommendations, then simply follow the pattern as written.

(While the length is given as 161 cm / 63 ½“, you’ll find that brioche is a very stretchy fabric, and the shawl actually expands to about 186 cm / 73” when wearing.)

Measured after blocking. Gauge has an influence on the size of your finished piece and your yardage!

Ein einfaches Muster, eine kuschelige Texture, und unzählige Möglichkeiten…
Base Camp ist ein Strickmuster und Tuch-Rezept, das zwar einfach, aber nicht langweilig ist!

Eine Farbe oder zwei, vier oder viele, Colorblock oder Farbverlauf, dünne oder dicke Wolle? Du kannst dem Strickmuster einfach folgen, egal welche Wollstärke und wieviele Farben, und einfach so lange weiterstricken, wie du willst oder es deine Wolle hergibt. Folge dem Strickmuster für die originale Version im einfarbigen Patent in Garnstärke DK, der Variation für eine Version im zweifarbigen Patent oder dem Rezept, wenn du eine andere Garnstärke verwenden willst.

Base Camp ist ein entspanntest Strickvergnügen wenn dir einfach nur nach Patent ist!

Das Strickmuster ist erhätlich auf Deutsch und Englisch, in einer Version zum Ausdrucken oder ansehen auf Desktop-Computern, sowie in einer Version, die für mobile Geräte (Tablet, Smartphone) optimiert ist.

STRICKMUSTER vs. REZEPT
Das Base-Camp-Tuch wurde ursprünglich in der Garnstärke „DK“ designed. Durch die einfache Konstruktion kann das Strickmuster aber ganz einfach auch auf andere Garnstärken abgewandelt werden.
Darum gibt es 3 Varianten: Die Original-Version ist ein ganz normales Strickmuster, inklusive aller üblichen Angaben, die zweite Version ist eine Abwandlung (Seite 13) mit zweifarbigem Patent. Du kannst auch jederzeit (d.h. mit jeder Muster-wiederholung) zwischen der einfarbigen- und zweifarbigen Version wechseln. Zuletzt gibt es noch das Rezept, das dich dabei unterstützt, wenn du das Tuch in einer anderen Garnstärke und mit anderer Maschenprobe stricken willst.
