This is a very easy sock pattern, designed for knitters who want to knit a sock that does not require a lot of concentration but is still more interesting to knit than plain stockinette. They are inspired by the patterning of bark on a young tree.

The stitch pattern is in multiples of four which makes for easy resizing outside of the standard small, medium or large size provided in the pattern or to accommodate yarn that is not standard weight sock yarn.

The knit/purl combination of stitches make for a gauge and fabric performance very similar to stockinette.

The pattern is fully written out, and a chart is also provided for those who prefer reading charts.

You need a 100g or 2 x 50g skeins of standard weight sock yarn and one pair of 2.5mm sock needles (DPNs or circular depending on your preference and to get gauge).

The medium size took 320m of Tanis Blue Label Fingering.

These are the first design of a new design series inspired by nature.
