Everyone these days seems to be making asymmetrical triangle shawls. Not wanting to be left out, I designed Bandwagon. This shawl starts in one corner and is worked sideways in an eyelet pattern. As the shawl increases, so does the interest – it takes a turn and a garter stitch triangle starts to form. Bandwagon ends by decreasing down to three stitches, giving it its triangle shape. Worked in a beautiful gradient yarn from KnitCircus, you can’t go wrong jumping on this bandwagon!

Pattern Notes
When working the decrease sections of the shawl, work the first knit stitch and the sssk that follows loosely. Doing so will make the shawl much easier to block later.

When working Increase Section 3 and Decrease Section 1, you will be working two k2togs in a row before the stitch marker. Take care and resist the urge to add a yarn over between them. It will throw off your stitch count!

For “Decrease Section 2” it may be helpful to use an additional stitch marker to mark the right side of the shawl to keep track of your work.

Wingspan: 75”; Depth: 25”

Gauge
18 sts and 24 rows = 4” in lace patt
Lace patt = (yo, k2tog)

Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of shawl.

• 420 yards of fingering weight yarn
• US Size 5 (3.75mm), 24” circular needle or longer
• 1 stitch marker
• Tapestry needle
