While we usually think of pink for baby girls and blue for baby boys, designer Valentina Devine wanted to create a blanket and pillow set that was unisex - the safe choice when knitting for an unborn baby!

As with most of Valentina’s designs, her inspiration came from nature - for this blanket, the colours of spring. Valentina says, “I looked at the sky with ists shades of blue, gray, and a touch of lavender, and the pase shades of green in the water.” This is a great beginner’s project, with special design focus on the edges - a simple crochet chain fringe and decoration.
