Ballet-style Slippers
They may seem oddly shaped as you’re making them, but are so comfy on the feet!
I’ve made 4 pairs of these using double-strand worsted wt. acrylic and all fit my size 9 foot fine, however if they seem to gape or gap around the top unsatisfactorily, one solution is to run ribbon or strands of thread elastic through the ribs at the top to draw them in for a closer fit around the upper part. Also, I have found that if made with acrylic, a run through the machine washer and dryer improves them. I always love them when they first come out of the dryer. They tighten and shrink up a bit and cling better all round. I only do this with acrylic, though.
Red pair in Caron Simply Soft. Blue pair in TLC Essentials. Brown pairs in unidentified vintage acrylic.
