Back to School Socks are a socks designed to enjoy the books, the pencils, the classrooms, the informal talking with friends. This socks are for remember or celebrate the Back to School!
These socks are worked with a toe-up construction. They are made with a classic toe and a new heell that I invented talked “Magic heel” (it’s a heel with a special construction that I have created by the traditional German short rows technique and giving extra space to the next area (that I called “almond”) and that the sts are not so tight. I have called this construction “magic almond heel” and you can see on reference of techiques).
The pattern is written for Magic Loop, but is easily adaptable to ADPs.

Yarn
Approx. 230-350 yards / 210-320 m. in fingering weight yarn
Sampler yarn
The sampler is knitting in size 1 with 1 skein of Katia Concept Kashwool (100gr. 410 m / 448 yds) col. 305, (70% wool, 25% polyamide, 5% kaschmir) and leftovers of fingering weight yarn for heel (I use leftovers of the same yarn but in col.304).

Suggested needles
2.75 mm / US 2 needles (or necessary size to obtain gauge).

Gauge
Gauge knitting in stockinette stitch (worked in round): 10cm / 4 inches are 32 sts x 44 Rnds.

Notions
3 stitch markers; 1 of different color or style for marking star of round (I usually use a stitch marker in the side of beginnin the round, or if you prefer you can use a stitch marker to mark the right side of your work). Tapestry needle.

Techiques used
Knit, purl, cast on, bind off, sew, increases and decreases, , montaje y cierre de puntos, aumentos, disminuciones, german short rows, working in the round on circular needles, working small circumferences in the round on DPNs/with magic loop/with two circulars.

Back to School Socks son unos calcetines diseñados para disfrutar de los libros, lápices, las clases, las charlas informales con amigos. Estos calcetines son para recordar o celebrar la Vuelta al Cole!
Estos calcetines están realizados con una construcción toe-up, es decir, tejidos desde la puntera hacia la caña. Este proyectos tiene una puntera clásica y un nuevo talón diseñado y creado por mí al que he llamado “Talón Mágico”. Es un talón con una construcción especial donde hay un espacio extra para crear una perfecta adaptación a la anatomía del talón, y una construcción en base a la técnica de vueltas cortas poniendo especial cuidado en que éstas no acaben creando esos pequeños agujeritos que sí apreciamos en la construcción de otros talones basados en vueltas cortas.
Este patrón está escrito para tejer con la técnica Magic Loop pero es fácilmente adpatable a ADPs

La muestra está tejida en una Talla 1 con 1 ovillo de Katia Concept Kashwool (100gr. 410 m / 448 yds) col. 305, (70% lana, 25% poliamida, 5% cashmere) y restos de grosor fingering de la misma lana (Yo he usado restos del color 304)

Agujas sugeridas
Agujas de 2.75 mm / US 2 (o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión).

Muestra de tensión
Muestra de tensión tejida en punto jersey (trabajada el circular): donde 10cm / 4 plulgadas son 32 pts x 44 VC.

Accesorios
3 marcadores; 1 de diferente color o estilo para diferenciar el inicio de vueltas (yo suelo usar de candado para engancharlo en el lateral del calcetín que me indica el inicio de vueltas). Aguja lanera para rematar hebras.

Técnicas empleadas
D, R, montaje y cierre de puntos, aumentos, disminuciones, trabajar circunferencias pequeñas con APDs o magic loop.
