Baby Soaker
The original pattern “Knit Baby Pants” can be found in The Farmer’s Wife Vol. 42 No. 3, March 1939, on page 25.
Requires 2 oz. of sport yarn and size 4 needles.
Pattern description from Knitting America: “Reprinted from The Farmer’s Wife, March 1939. Both mothers and babies like these simply-made knitted wool panties. Mothers like them because they are easy to make and wash and they are adequate protection when the baby goes partying afternoons. The baby likes them because they are porous and so allow ventilation.”
This pattern may be found in the book Knitting America by Susan M. Strawn, published by Voyager Press in 2007 on page 127.
