Baby Panda and his Lucky Bamboo
Hello, and thanks for stopping by! :)
Meet Charlie the Baby Panda. He is our unofficial groundskeeper here at Jo’s Home, and we’re mighty appreciative! Charlie has a gentle touch and loving nature. Sometimes you can even catch him singing to his pretty peonies or telling bedtime stories to his lotus flowers.
A while ago, Charlie tried to teach me how to garden, but his efforts were futile -- there was no chance of saving plants under my care. The peonies began to wilt in fear as I approached, and the lotus flowers would close up quickly and submerge themselves under water! One day, just when I started to think that all plants hated me, Charlie surprised me with a gift! He and his purple panda friend, Suzie, crocheted a lucky bamboo plant for me!!! He told me that it will never require any watering, pruning, or fertilizing. That’s my kind of plant! Haha :) I can’t decide if the pandas crocheted this plant for me because they love me… or because they didn’t want me killing any more of their flowers. In any case, I love the gift, and it now sits proudly on my window sill!
“Baby Panda and his Lucky Bamboo” is my second amigurumi pattern, and it has a special place in my heart because it’s inspired by my cultural background.
In Chinese culture, a lucky bamboo plant with three stalks symbolizes wealth, longevity, and happiness. Lucky bamboo is a great gift for housewarmings, weddings, birthdays, grand openings of shops, and any occasion on which you’d like to wish the recipient much prosperity. Designing this pattern is my way of sending YOU warm wishes and good luck -- and I hope that this eternally green plant will bring lots of positive energy into your home and the homes of your loved ones. :)
This pattern pack consists of TWENTY PAGES filled with tons of clear photos, detailed instructions, and helpful tips! The Baby Panda pattern and the Lucky Bamboo pattern both include two versions (1. a full, photo-filled version, and 2. a printer-friendly version with no photos) in one .PDF file so that you can choose which one you’d like to use.
