This pattern can be made to fit any head from a preemie to an adult male. Your stitch count is based on the circumference and height of the head that will wear it. If you do not have the measurements, there is a chart that can be used for the sizes.

I used a worsted weight (#4) for the hat and the ear flaps. I used a textured #4 weight for the brim and trim. But, the whole hat can be made from your choice of yarns. Again, you will be using the chart for your sizes so the weight of the yarn and the size of the hook are changeable.

I used the remnants of a Pound of Love yarn for the main part of the hat. I am sure the hat will take no more than 5 oz of yarn to complete.

The hat can be made with or without ear flaps … the choice is yours.
