Gauge: 22 sts, 30 rows= 4” in st st on size 6 needles
27 sts, 27 rows= 4” in fan shell pattern on size 6s after blocking

Needles: US size 5 & 6 - 16” circular needle, size 6 double points for hat, stitch marker

(multiple of 15 sts- do not count sts on rounds 3, 4, and 5 since the stitch count will be incorrect)
Rounds 1 and 2: k2, p11, k2; rep from around.
Round 3: ssk, k11, k2tog; rep from
Round 4: ssk, k9, k2tog; rep from
Round 5: ssk, k7, k2tog; rep from
Round 6: k2, (yo, k1)5 times, yo, k2; rep from around.
Repeat these 6 rounds for pattern stitch.
