Ayʂes strumpor
by Ayʂe
The original socks that this pattern was made to imitate were made of handspun, natural white wool. It was part of the knitter’s dowry and all the stitches were knitted twisted.
The pattern is written as top-down, although the author notes that Turkish socks are often knitted toe-up, with an afterthought heel.
No gauge is given, but needle sizes 2-2.5 mm are suggested.
