Axiomata
To explore the many contributions of Sir Isaac Newton to science would have required many pairs of socks. “Axiomata” is a tribute to just a few of his findings, from classical mechanics to optics, and takes its name from Axiomata sive Leges Motus, in which Newton defined the Universal Laws of Motions.
Sizing
To fit foot circumference (measured around ball of foot):
Small ― 20 cm (8 in),
Medium ― 23 cm (9 in),
Large ― 25.5 cm(10 in)
Yarn requirement
The Knitting Goddess British wool and nylon 4ply (1 x 100g, 400 m / 437 yds) shown in “Falling Down”
or The Knitting Goddess Britsock (1 x 100g, 400 m / 437 yds)
Needles and Notions
- 2.25 mm (US 1) needles (circ. or DPNs) - Or size required to achieve gauge.
- Cable needle
- Darning needle
- Stitch markers
- Thin waste yarn (crochet thread for instance)
Gauge
36 sts and 52 rows / 10cm (4 in) measured over stockinette in the round

Errata:

Newton’s Apple
The knitted apple pictured has been designed to complement the Axiomata socks. Filled with dried lavender, an apple will be an original ‘sachet’ in your sock drawer.
