Avoyelles
Hometown Shawls #4 - in tribute to the communities that have shaped my family.
This tangy shawl changes often enough to keep you interested, but flows well enough from one section to the next that you’ll memorize the pattern quickly. Flex your creativity by coordinating the body color with two miniskeins for the edging.
Avoyelles is named after the Louisiana Parish that my father and his parents are from.
Yarn:
- 437 yards (400 m) fingering weight yarn (Main Color)
- 80 yards (73 m) fingering weight yarn each (Contrast Color 1 and 2)
The sample is shown in Hedgehog Fibres Sock - one skein in “Pesto” for body, one mini skein each in “Graphite” and “Envy” for edging
Skill level: intermediate - requires yos at the beginning of the row, k2tog, ssk, kfb and pattern stitches on both sides of the work
