A sideways shawl that is truly ready for the first cold snap! With a colorway and lacework that reminds us of looking up at falling leaves, this shawl is ready for chilly evenings.
(Published in the August 2016 issue of I Like Knitting.)
SHAPE: Crescent
NOTIONS: 2 stitch markers. Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
PATTERN STYLE: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.
DIFFICULTY: Advanced Beginner
YARN: This pattern was specifically designed for tonal yarn, certainly a solid, a gradient, color block, or even a subtle variegated colorway would knit up nicely.
SIZE: 65” x 15” (Blocked and unpinned). This is the size of the sample, please keep in mind the size of your shawl may vary depending on your yarn skein’s yardage.
NOTE: You will need to weigh your yarn on a scale before you start, and as you knit this shawl. If you are not using a scale, you MUST swatch to get gauge and follow the repeats of the sample.
The beauty of the construction of this shawl is you can make as small or as large as you would like, repeating the sections according to your OWN skein’s yardage, enabling you to use very close to the entire skein of yarn.
