This autumnal kimono-style shrug is knitted in a lacy leaf like stitch. This loose lightweight garment is perfect as an elegant extra layer for those cooler evenings.

Yarn:

Blacker Hebridean / Mohair (4-ply; 175 m / 190 yds per 50g)
Grey (dark); 8 (9, 9, 10) balls

Gauge:

21 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm / 4” worked in lace stitch

Adjust needle size to give correct tension.

Needles:

4 mm (US 6) - straight knitting needles plus 1 spare for 3 needle cast off
4 mm (US 6) - 80 cm / 32” circular knitting needle
4 mm (US 6) - double pointed for working the I-cord

Notes:

This garment is knitted flat and then seamed with a three needle bind off. Both sleeves are knitted flat and seamed together down the centre of the back. Stitches are then picked up along one side and knitted flat creating the body of the shrug.
