Aurelia Cardigan
Slightly long V-neck wrap cardigan with straight silhouette and positive ease ~4-10% of bust circumference. Waist shaping can be worked if desired.
Cardigan is worked bottom-up in pieces, then sleeves and body joined together at underarms, and then shaped raglan sleeves and V-neck.
Shape waist and bust darts for better fitting.
YARN:
fingering weight yarn ~350-380m/383-415yds per 100g/3.5oz. See yardage for your size below.
The sample was knit in coned tweed yarn Biagioli Modesto Sherwood (25% cashmere, 65% lambswool, 3% polyamide); 670m/733yds per 100g/3.5oz worked double stranded)
NEEDLES:
(circulars on 60-80cm/24-32” cable for neck finishing; use dpns or circulars on long cable for magic loop method when working sleeves if desired):
● Casting on: 3.5mm/US 4;
● Main: 4mm/US 6 (or size to get gauge in 22 rib);
GAUGE(ON MAIN NEEDLES MEASURED PER 10X10 CM/4X4” SQUARE AFTER WET BLOCKING)
● In 22 rib - 22 sts by 30 rows on main needles
TECHNIQUES
● Italian cast on (= long-tail tubular cast on)
● Transition from 11 rib to 22 rib

● Reading charts (optional)
● Double decrease – (k2tog/ssk)2
● Decreases: knit 2 together (k2tog), slip-slip-knit (ssk), purl 2 together (p2tog) & slip-slip-purl (ssp)
