Size: a (b) c (d) e (f) g (h).
Your bust circumference: 80 (90) 100 (110) 120 (130) 140 (150) cm.
Total bust width of the top: 75 (85) 95 (105) 115 (125) 135 (145) cm.
Full length (from shoulder edge to bottom edge): 56 (56) 58 (58) 60 (60) 62 (62) cm.
Ease: This top has a negative ease at approximately 5 cm, depending on your bust circumference. The peplum skirt has free width. When deciding which size to knit, choose the one which corresponds to your own actual bust circumference.
Gauge: Two different gauges are used when knitting the top.
Yoke: 16 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch at needle size 5,5 mm (after washing).
Skirt: 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch at needle size 6 mm (after washing).
Needle sizes: 3 different needle sizes are used for the top.
Lace- and I-cord edges: circular needle 5 mm, 2 sets (the length 60 cm is commended).
Yoke: circular needle 5,5 mm (the lengths 60 and 80 cm are recommended).
Skirt: circular needle 6 mm (the lengths 60, 80 and 100 cm are recommended).
Yarn: The sweater is knitted with 2 threads held together.
1st thread: “Tweed”, Kit Couture (85 m per 50 g).
2nd thread: “Tilia”, Filcolana (210 m per 25 g).
Amount: The following yarn amounts are used for the top.
1st thread: 300 (300) 350 (350) 400 (400) 450 (450) g.
2nd thread: 75 (75) 75 (75) 100 (100) 100 (100) g.
Other: 1,5-2,5 mm elastic thread for the waist.
Method: This top is worked in stockinette stitch – in the round while knitting the body and peplum skirt, and flat when shaping the yoke and V-shaped neckline.
First, the body and yoke are worked upwards from the waistline, after which stitches are picked up along the cast-on row at the waist. The peplum skirt is then knitted in the round and finished with a transversal lace edge. To complete the top, I-cords are worked around the neckline and armhole edges.
