Headwear is quick and fun to knit, and a beret is a very flattering style for most of us. Here I have used a narrow Viking Cable panel for the brim and combined it with plain stockinette for the crown.
This design was originally published in Piecework Magazine back in the day, but the Vikings are still around, so here is a slightly modified version.
