This pattern was published in Issue 136 of Knit Now magazine.

The design is inspired by the natural world. I liked the border pattern with its upward reaching lines and lace effect that appears to me like light shining through tree branches. I chose a delicate leafy edging to go with it.

A triangular shawl knitted top down in one piece. Cast on is at the centre of the back of the neck. The body of the shawl consists of garter stitch with a narrow garter stitch edge along the top edge of the shawl throughout. There is an undulating lace border, which is followed by a leaf lace edging. The edging features large triple yarn overs which can be blocked to form a scalloped edge.

Yarn: Glendale Fibres Soft sock (85% merino, 15% nylon) 400m/100g; 2 skeins in colourway Seafoam.

Gauge:
21 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm measured over garter stitch after blocking.
21 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm measured over stitch pattern Chart

Needles: 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle.
