Astonishing Axolotl
This axolotl is knitted in the round with a small number of stitches and is quite a fiddly project, though not a really long one.
It is an experienced level pattern.
Yarn and gauge: Use any yarn, but yarn that includes at least 50% wool will hold the shape better.
The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn, however, you may use any weight yarn, so long as you use a needle size to give a tight weave so that the stuffing does not show through. If you use a heavier weight yarn the final size (now about 12”/30cm long) will be quite a bit bigger and you will need more yarn.
Yarn Amounts:
For the body, fingering weight yarn, 153 yds (140 m)
For the fin, lace weight or light fingering, 27 yds (25 m)
For the gills, fingering weight eyelash yarn, 6 yds/m
