Ashland Mittens celebrate an intentionally minimalist design, with clear lines, understated texture, and a decorative thumb gusset. The mittens are easy to make, as long as you are comfortable working with fingering weight yarn and know how to knit in the round and make increases. If not, this could be a great project to learn. I am a great lover of reverse stockinette, and hope you do not mind purl stitches!

Mittens are worked circularly, from the bottom up.
The mittens can be worked using a set of DPNs, or using circular needles for magic loop, whatever is your favorite method.
The pattern is for women’s medium size; however, it can be easily adjusted in size.

Yarn: Approx. 200 yards of fingering weight yarn. Recommended yarn: 1 skein of Brooklyn Tweed Loft, in color Fossil.

Needles: US 2 (3mm)

Finished mitten: 3¼’’ (8.5 cm) wide and 8½’’ (22 cm) long.
