Asali
Worked from cast-on edge/corner out, increasing stitches along one edge. One color is used at a time with the pattern created in an easy to memorize slip-stitch. A loose rib border is worked in the final step. You will use all the yarn available to you, but your size may vary based on gauge. Shawl will grow substantially with blocking, so check gauge on blocked swatch.
Pattern calls for two balls of Freia Superwash Worsted in contrasting colors. Sample is shown in Aswan (MC) and Anubis (CC/border)
- Finished size approximately 58” long (tip to tip) and 30” tall.
- Knit at 20 sts and 36 rows over 4” in pattern stitch, before blocking.
- Suggested Needle Size US7 - 4.5mm 30” and a tapestry needle for finishing.
- Optionally go up one needles size for a more flowing border edge.
- Notions: Tapestry needle and two stitch markers.
Required Skills: Knit.
