Frost flowers and snowflakes, probably the prettiest things of winter.
These sneaker socks have them all! Pretty frost flowers around the ankles and toes, slowly falling snowflakes on the foot and leg. This sock has a heart heel, I want to thank Tanja from Knitted in Switzerland for introducing this technique to me. The heel flap is a traditional Finnish reinforced heel, which is just a name, the technique doesn’t really reinforce the heel at all, if you wear out the yarn it will unravel as any other heel.

Yarn
Yarn 1: 50 grams of light fingering weight, 425 meters / 100 grams
Yarn 2: 20 grams of of light fingering weight, 425 meters / 100 grams

Needles
Size US 1 ½ (2.5mm) needles, 8” (20cm) double
pointed needles.
Or size needed to obtain gauge

31 sts and 48 rows = 4” 10cm in St st in the
round, after light blocking

15.5[17.5, 19, 21.5] cm (6[7,7.5, 8.5] inch) foot circumference
with 2 cm (0.75 inch) negative ease

Special Stitches
Cluster 5 sts = Slip 5 stitches with yarn at back, pass yarn to front, slip the 5 stitches back to the left needle, k5.
K1 elongated twice = Knit a stitch wrapping yarn three times. On next row drop the extra wraps from needle.
