Artosphere is Arkansas’ yearly celebration of arts and nature. I usually do some sort of project inspired by the festival, and this year’s was an exercise in embracing the beauty of things I cannot control. Simple and portable, once complete this earthy green cowl takes a spin in the washing machine that produces a unique and fluid fabric. A few rounds of chevron patterning keep the color joins from being too stark and add interest to the finished piece.
If you decide to substitute yarns, use an animal fiber blend that is at least 15% silk.

This is pattern #12 in the Local Flavor collection. The designs in this collection were inspired by the town I live in and love. Photos are shot around town, and supplies, props, and additional garments are also local (to the best of my ability).
