I designed this sweater for my youngest daughter (she´s 18) who just left on a year trip around the world! I made it exactly like she wanted and she promised she would take pictures of the sweater in all the countries she is visiting. Of course I will let you follow along!

Around the world is an Icelandic lopi yoke sweater with a hood and zipper. Knitted in the round from the bottom up and steeked. Back knitted higher. Optional waist shaping. Hood can be ommited. High hip lenght but can be made longer. The sweater comes in sizes XS to 5XL. It is a quick knit, worked on big needles at a relatively loose gauge with my favorite Icelandic wool blend: a single strand of plötulopi together with my fine lambswool lace Love Story.

The pattern has links to many tutorials.

Wool
MC: 1 strand of plötulopi and 1 strand of Love Story held together
• Plötulopi from Ístex, 100% new wool, unspun, approx. 110 g plate = 330 m / 360 yds: shade #9103 (dark grey), 2(2,3,3)3,3,3(4,4) plates
• Love Story Einband from Hélène Magnússon, pure new wool, 100% Icelandic lambswool, fine lace weight, 1 ply, 25 g skein = 225 m / 246 yds: shade Raven black, 3(3,3,3)4,4,4(5,5) skeins
CCs: Plötulopi from Ístex: 1 strand alone*
• CC1: shade #0001 (white), 1 plate,
• CC2: shade #0003 (light beige), 1 plate

If you find it too difficult to use the CC single without Love Story to reinforce, you can also use 2 strands of CC lopi together – it will make it less breakable but a bit thicker around the yoke. Or double with Love Story in corresponding colors (Natural white and Hafra beige).

Yardage used
MC: 483(526,579,625)699,761,865(924,1001) m / 528(575,633,683)765,832,945(1010,1094) yds

CC2: 33(35,39,42)47,51,58(62,67) m / 36(39,43,46)52,56,64(68,74) yds

If you don´t work the hood, you will need between 121-142 m / 132 -156 yds less yarn of the MC.
