It’s a chilly spring morning in New York. The smell of wet asphalt and tobacco fills the air. However, above all I sense the fresh coffee. It attracts me like a magnet and I know that just around the corner is my favorite cafeteria. I step in to the corner of the street and at the same time the first rays of sun light fall behind the shadow of the opposite house and warmly touch my cheek. I’ll stop for a moment. I look up at and see French balconies above filled with flowers. I open the door of the cafe and step inside. This is my favorite moment of the day.

Around the corner is a traditional triangle shawl worked from top center towards Outer edge. The other shawl side is worked with garter stitch, and the other is decorated with lace pattern resembling the French balconies.

On kolea kevät aamu New York:ssa. Ulkona tuoksuu märkä asfaltti ja tupakka. Jostain leijailee kuitenkin vieno kahvin tuoksu. Se vetää minua puoleensa kuin magneetti. Tiedän että ihan kulman takana on lempikahvilani, ja kohta olen siellä. Astun kadun kulmaan ja samalla kevät aamun ensi säteet lankeavat vastakkaisen talon varjon takaa ja koskettavat lämpimästi poskeani. Pysähdyn siihen hetkeksi. Around the corner on perinteinen kolmiohuivi, joka neulotaan niskasta alkaen. Huivi koostuu kahdesta toisistaan poikkeavasta puoliskosta. Huivi neuloutuu joutuisasti, sillä toinen puolisko neulotaan ainaoikein neuletta kuvastaen kerrostalon varjoista seinustaa. Toinen puoli puolestaan koostuu ranskalaisparvekkeita
muistuttavasta rönsyilevästä pitsineule osiosta.
