Ariel is an iteration of the triangular mini shawl - or shawlette, as I like to call it - designed for the summer. It’s airy and light, and very versatile. It can be worn as a scarf or draped on the shoulders over a dress.
It is designed to use one skein of the recommended yarn, as it is part of the Malabrigo Quickies program, but it can be made into a bigger shawl. All you have to do is carry on knitting until you reach the desired size or until you run out of yarn.

You start with an I-Cord tab cast-on and increase on both sides to create the triangular shape. The increases are integrated into the Mesh Lace pattern. At the same time, you maintain the I-Cord edge, until the piece is finished and you bind off with the I-Cord bind-off technique, creating a clean and stylish finish.

The pattern has been edited by Agnes Kroner.
