Crochet yours in traditional holiday colors or mix it up with a variety of colors; the choice is yours. Written for worsted/aran weight yarn, however the pattern can be worked in just about any yarn. Try sock yarn and make an ornament; try bulky and make a statement!

The iconic Argyle design has a rich history in fashion dating back to the 17th century where it was derived from the tartan of Clan Campbell of Argyll in western Scotland. In the 1920’s it became a staple pattern used in golf clothing and accessories and eventually became a part of pop culture with 1980’s preppies! Who knew!

Labeled as intermediate as you will be required to work with two colors at once. Experience with changing colors mid-row and familiarity with either tapestry crochet (working over unused yarn) or intarsia crochet (floating unused yarn on WS) is recommended.

GAUGE: 18 rows, 15 sts in sc = 4”.
Exact gauge is not important for this project, however you do want a tight gauge to keep the pillow stuffing from showing.
