Winter into Summer and back again. These socks are a pair of sister socks, inspired by the movie “Frozen” and the transitional times between Winter and Summer as one season falls away and we welcome the next.

Designed with my daughter, Charlotte, who loves mystery, magic, and all things Frozen (she’s 4), this KAL was created to be an adventure, one that changes as you continue.

Each clue will feature a number of options, divided up by season with varying options dependent on size and desired length. With 4 clues and at least 2 options per clue you can make a truly unique pair of socks, custom fit to your needs.

YOU HAVE 9 different CO options, 6 full sizes and 2 full lengths. I’ve sized this pattern to be completely customizable for kids through more ample calved knitters with notes on adjusting fit.

Socks can be worked in as few as 3 colors and as many as 5 (or more!) and can even be stash dived. You can choose to stay on one path for the entire sock, or diverge into something different half way through…the options for customization are endless!

The color story I have chosen for my socks is as follows:
yarn used: Loopy Ewe Solid Series/Fingering 3-ply

Color A (light neutral): Smoke 15-20g
Color B (dark neutral): Charcoal 15-20g
Color C (main summer): Mulberry 25-35g
Color D (main winter): Royal Blue 25-35g
Color E (pop accent): Sunshine Yellow 20-30g

The above weights are estimates. You may need more or less depending on your size. The smaller number indicates the estimated quantity for the Mid-Calf version. The larger number is the estimate for the Knee-High version. If you are making an all winter or all summer version of these socks, you will only need either C or D (but not both) at twice the indicated quantity.

The mystery has been revealed, all clues have been released! This pattern is available for purchase. It will be put into a single PDF after the conclusion of the KAL on March 31st!
