This cap was designed and knit for a friend of mine who was facing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Her determination and will to win over cancer and not to let it define her was my inspiration. It’s a quick and fun knit -- can be done in an evening. And, it’s a nice way to let someone know you care. The fabric is very elastic and comfortable to keep a bare head warm and casually stylish.

June 28, 2009 Thanks to alert knitter’s who caught the error in the originally published pattern…I left a line out when I typed my notes and there was another typo. Both are fixed now and the link will take you to the correct version!

April 14, 2010 Finally made what I hope is the last fix -- when I did the math for the smaller and larger sizes, I failed to maintain the need for an even number of stitches for the body of the hat! The link now takes you to a correct version, but the quick fix is to add one stitch to the cast-on for the Adult Large and the Child/Adult Small sizes and then decrease one stitch during the single purl round before the decreases for the crown. This gives you the right number of stitches to work the crown.
