The Anne Elliot Socks are the fourth in a collection of patterns named after women from Jane Austen novels. I like to design the socks with an eye to what the character might like to knit. Anne Elliot may not offer much of her inner life to outsiders, but she’s faithful to her sailor, and I chose a seersucker texture pattern that looks beautiful no matter what yarn you choose!

These socks are worked from the cuff down and include two sizes for fingering-weight yarns. They are written for magic-loop knitting and include a heel flap and gusset, but feel free to substitute your own needle preference and preferred heel/toe method. You could easily work these socks toe up or with an afterthought heel if that is your preferred method.

You should be able to knit a pair of these socks for most foot sizes in fingering weight with approx. 100g of yarn. This pattern includes both charted and written instructions. I hope you find it accessible! Please contact me at barnabyknits@gmail.com with any questions.
