'Annabelle' 3 piece romper set
This charming, vintage-style baby romper is as delightful to knit as it is for a newborn to wear. Designed specifically for infants aged 0 to 3 months, this piece features a classic yoke and a soft, flared silhouette that provides both comfort and style.
The romper is worked top-down on straight needles, a construction method that allows you to easily monitor the length while minimizing the bulk of heavy seams.
Pattern Highlights
Size: 0–3 Months.
Design: A timeless yoke with delicate eyelet lace detailing and a sweet, leg-opening finish.
Construction: Knitted top-down on straight needles. This approach keeps the bodice and legs in one cohesive piece, requiring only minimal finishing at the inner leg and side seams.
Skill Level: Intermediate. This pattern uses standard increases and a rhythmic lace repeat to create the decorative textures.
Design Features
Starting at the neckline with a soft garter or ribbed edge, the romper flows into a structured yoke. The transition from the chest to the body features a signature eyelet lace pattern, giving the garment its “angelic” name and heirloom quality. It is finished with dainty buttons at the shoulders or back for easy dressing, making it the perfect choice for a special “coming home” outfit or baby’s first photoshoot.
