Anna Marie Jensen’s Queen’s Lace Doily
In 1971 Anna Marie Jensen returned for the forth and last time to her native Denmark. At the request of the Guild for Promotion of Handiwork, sponsored by Queen Ingrid, she had been asked to write a pattern for The Queen’s Lace. The doily pattern she wrote came from a gift from a lady many years earlier.
In Anna Marie’s own words, “The doily was like a spiderweb, made of fine silk threads. Her Majesty was most satisfied with the results of my work.” Later that year she was sent a special commendation letter and medal from the Queen.
