Ankle Warmer Boots
This is a super fast EASY and inexpensive project and great for last-minute gifting.
Sizes in this pattern work for feet between 9 and 10-1/2 inches from heel to toe. Women’s shoe sizes 6 through 10 and men’s 5 through 10.
A minimum of 190 yards of washable worsted weight yarn is required and size 5 US needles. I also recommend 4 ring markers.
Gauge: 19 sts in 4” on 5’s.
These ‘high-top’ slippers are designed to keep your feet and ankles warm and can be constructed with cuffs that go even higher up the leg if you wish.
There are three suggestions for the cuffs and many size choices. I’ve also included how much yarn is needed for long tail casting on, multiple places throughout with stitch counts so you can verify you have the correct number, several photographs and instructions for a stretchy bind off
I usually wear my Ankle Warmer Boots over a pair of socks for an extra layer of coziness. I especially like knitted slippers because my feet and ankles stay warm without getting sweaty.
They are constructed in one piece. A seam runs down the back and down the center of the sole. Skills needed include Knit, purl, knit through back loop, ribbing, yarn over, p2tog, SSK, turning, seaming.
The soles are created first and then toe shaping is done via short rows. A stripe of another color can be easily incorporated with instructions included.
Feel free to make these to sell! Just please give me credit for the design when you list them.
Rachel Sanchez who test knitted the pattern said, “These were so much fun to make. I’m going to make them for my whole family!”
