"Angel" Romper set
This charming knitted baby set features a delicate, vintage-inspired design that is as practical as it is beautiful. Perfectly sized for newborns (0–3 months), the ensemble includes a textured romper, a matching bonnet, and cozy booties.
Pattern Overview
This design is worked top-down on straight needles allowing for a seamless finish and the ability to easily adjust lengths as you knit. The construction begins at the neckline, working through the yoke and body, and finishing at the leg cuffs.
Key Design Features
• Faux-Crochet Edging: One of the most striking elements of this pattern is the intricate, scalloped edging found on the sleeves, waistline, and leg openings. While these edges beautifully resemble crochet, they are achieved entirely through knitting techniques, creating a soft, cohesive look without needing a hook.
• Eyelet Details: The body of the romper and the bonnet feature a classic “eyelet” or “teardrop” lace motif, providing breathability and a timeless aesthetic.
• Textured Yoke: The romper includes a decorative eyelet increase line at the raglan, which transitions smoothly into the ruffled sleeve caps.
• Finishing Touches: The front features a full-length button placket for easy dressing, and the matching bonnet uses knitted ties for a secure, comfortable fit.
