The Amy Shawl is named after three Amys in my life. The link to the family is my niece Amy, who is an amazing person – mother, businesswomen, friend and niece. She’s also my first God child and has a special place in my heart. As a teenager I would knit clothes for her, some original Twinset & Purl designs! Then there is my work colleague Amy, who I’ve known since she was a student coming to us for work experience, now she is a wonderful and supportive friend. Most recently there is Amy from Mamie and Florrie, who despite our short acquaintance is a true kindred spirit. Whether you are an Amy knitting this for yourself, know an Amy and knit this for her, or simply admire the design, I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I do!
