AMU hat

編む (from Japanese) - to knit, plait, braid

Driftwood - A Spinster’s Daughter Collection

This unique stitch pattern is an effort to upgrade what might be perceived as a usual 2 by 2 ribbing. The most satisfying simplest knit elevated by use of 2 yarn types and colors to create a reversible hat that features vertical striping on one side and marled horizontal striping on the other. Or choose to work it solid for singular ribbed texture, as well as select how to finish the crown, cinched or squared, to suit your preference!

Decorative crown shaping can be rotated to be featured in front or rotated for an arched look instead. Two crown finishing methods are included as well – cinched or square.

NB: Please pay special attention to directions for abbreviated decreases, their execution is described in the “Techniques”.
